The funny thing is that Xerox could have been a verb. A verb is what every brand in the world wants to be. But the lawyers told them to "lock up the brand" behind walls of copyright.

Another wrong for Big X..

I'm still looking for someone funnier than Greg. No luck in the MFP world, so far....

Wait, did that comment thread just jump the shark?

Hey, at least everyone has finally quit calling a "xerox". Can you make a "xerox" of that for me? Xerox almost became the next Google there, but not quite.

I would agree completely with what MichaelJ said... and for the record I'm funnier than Greg!

OK, you're right. I couldn't pull that one off.

Warmest Regards,
K

Every creative loves unicorns.I love unicorns. My granddaughter loves unicorns. The problem is people who have to do busyness. No time for unicorns. So call it horse. If they think they are buying a pony. Call it a pony. If they want a pig..

They're too stressed to hear anything you're saying anyway. They just want you to go away so they can do the next thing they think they have to do to stay busy.

Only in this industry can a conversation morph from a technology discussion to unicorns...

Only in this industry.

Keep reading and commenting, folks. Your insights are brilliant!

The hardest thing in the world is to get someone to do what they are not already doing.

The easiest thing in the world is give them a way to make whatever it is they want to do easier.

It's why the Kindle is so good. It's not a multifunction device that connects to the blablabla. it's a machine maniacally focused on making it easier to get books and read them.

If someone wants to buy a horse, don't try to sell them a unicorn. Even if it is a unicorn, call it a horse.

dangit...

I hit submit with pre-maturely...I think there pills for that...

I started a sentence and didn't finish it...

"Perhaps the next small bizz that sales rep talks with, he might consider throwing a little bit of "logic" out the window.

Sorry bout that.

Wow!

Good post, great points.

Thanks for the shout out.

You're two scenarios are spot on. Small Business(MicroBizz) and Education(Indoctrination).

Micro-Business owners want what they want - period. Sales people have got to see things through the owners eyes. Perhaps the next small bizz that sales rep talks with

Education will always want "Book Copy" functions, and it seems, always waste our tax dollars on "English as second language and Fuzzy math..." so logic doesn't prevail here.

And the best is "...Why can’t you guys in the copier industry just sell copiers?..." - perfect.

One of the best sales managers I ever had - and there haven't been many - once told me "...we tend to over complicate this...it's just sales..."

And it is.

As far as TheDeathOfTheCopier being upon us?

I would say it is, just about as much as the paperless office is upon us...except for that A3 vs A4 thing... ;-)

Keep banging the keyboard - Great Stuff.
